We are sure you’ve had this feeling where, after spending hours on window shopping in browsers online, checking out the latest trends and mens boxer shorts price, you finally buy a pair for yourself. Happy with the purchase, you can’t wait to flaunt it at the beach vacation you’d been planning with your buddies, but, after its first wash, that same pair loses its colour, shrinks in size and the stitching begins to unfurl like tentacles from the seam lines.
Frustrated, disappointed, and wanting to do something about it, you pull your phone out, go to the website where you purchased your men’s shorts from and submit a review:
“After the first wash its colour faded and size shrunk to such an extent that I double checked to see if they were mine in the first place. Complete waste of time and money.”
You then put the phone away, vowing to never buy from them again, or, in the heat of the moment, vowing to never shop online again. While the latter promise to yourself is going to break for sure, the former, is something that, in most cases, you might not forget.
Riding the wave of fast fashion, you want to be updated as far as your wardrobe goes, and if those men’s shorts that Tom Cruise wore in the movie are available at an affordable price online, why wouldn’t you buy them? You think about placing the order, but are reminded of the first experience and are wondering whether to risk it again this time.
Some of you might check to see if there is a cash on option delivery so that you can decide once the pair arrives, whether you want to invest in it or return in, but you know you can’t be doing that all the time! So how do you go about really evaluating whether or not something is worth it?
Personally, we are biased towards comfort as being the primary factor when it comes to deciding whether or not something is worth the price, and this bias remains consistent across all items in the wardrobe. It is not like we would go out and buy a luxurious Harvey Specter kind of Suit and then go cheap with our boxer shorts, because we’d like to be equally comfortable waiting in a three piece suit at the airport through a flight layover, as we would want to be lazing on a hammock at the beach in a pair of men’s short that have been bought at a super affordable price.
After all, the feel good factor goes hand in hand with the comfort level of clothes. We are sure that each one of us can recall at least one hectic day with so much on the plate that all we want to do is wear something comfortable and get on with the tasks one by one.
If we are to dig deeper though, the factors that we believe sum up to being comfortable include the choice of fabric and material, the details the placement and quality of zippers, drawstrings, or and buttons, the strength and finish of the stitching, the size, placement, and number of pockets, and so on. Along with those, factors like how steadfast the colour is, how the fabric responds to washing cycles, and the various combinations that we can wear the garment in, including how often we can wear it, all have a part to play as well.
So the next time you are making a purchase for men’s shorts or any other piece of clothing, know that there are a whole lot of things that you can consider before placing that order.
PS – Do ensure that you have checked the reviews too! You might get more information there, than anywhere else on the entire page you are browsing.
