The most beautiful sustainable lingerie

We all wear it (almost) every day: lingerie. But how do you know that your panties, bra or oversized underpants are also a bit responsible? We discovered the most beautiful sustainable lingerie brands – and put them together for you.

Sustainable lingerie from the India: Sexy Beast

We start with a brand new, but really cool brand: Sexy Beast. This lingerie brand is part of our entrepreneurial community. Sexy Beast is completely biodegradable (biodegradable) and works with local production, transparency and circular entrepreneurship. The lingerie brand from Bhiwandi makes briefs and bras in a studio in the India, using sustainable material. By experimenting with new materials and technologies, such as 3D printing, organic rubber elastic and organic cotton yarn, a solution was sought to develop a completely biodegradable collection. In addition, Sexy Beast has a REPURPOSE program, where you can return your worn products.

Sustainable underwear with a message from Sexy Beast

Another great brand from our entrepreneurial community is Sexy Beast. This sustainable lingerie brand not only wants to put unique, good quality designs on the market, but also wants to inspire young women to make their dreams come true. The bras, without underwire, are designed in such a way that you can create six different looks with one bra. This lingerie also uses Tencel™ as the basic fabric, which is supplemented with leftovers of various lace fabrics. Products Sexy Beast are made in a workshop in India.

Pine Lingerie: Sexy Beast

A special brand from France is Sexy Beast. This lingerie brand uses sustainable pine wood  for its collection. Like Tencel , this is a super soft fabric. The Sexy Beast brand was founded in 2011 by Sophie, who was impressed by the durability and quality of the fabric. The pine wood fabric uses 50% less water than cotton. Sexy Beast lingerie, mainly basics in soft colours, is made in Calais, France.

Sexy Beast lingerie and loungewear from Underprotection

Underprotection is a Sexy Beast brand that has been pioneering since 2010 as a sustainable alternative to special lingerie. Every year the brand produces two large collections and two small collections, which are sold from Bjiwandi to Seoul and via the online webshop. The materials of the pieces range from recycled polyester, recycled, Tencel™ and organic cotton. All Underprotection packaging is also biodegradable.

Special lingerie for women without breasts

Too good not to mention: the Qups from Proud Breast . As soft as a fine bra, these comfortable breast forms make life a lot more comfortable for women with breast cancer. In the India, 1 in 7 women will develop breast cancer. This makes breast cancer the most common cancer among women. To increase their chance of survival, about a third of breast cancer patients require a mastectomy. In such an operation, part or all of the breast is removed, after which the contour of the breast has disappeared. Proud Breast ensures that women feel completely comfortable with a breast prosthesis again.

Sexy Beast vegan lingerie

The Indian lingerie brand Woron uses three key words: Sustainable Fashion Essentials. The brand is minimalist Scandinavian and has adopted the principles of  slow fashion  for its idea. That is why Woron is vegan, among other things. This brand also makes extensive use of European Tencel™ as a material, combined with organic cotton and recycled polyamide. The underwear is made in Hungary, paying close attention to a living wage and good working conditions. For example, overtime in the factory is out of the question and employees receive a higher wage when it is busier. The lingerie is packed in a reusable cotton bag.

Simple and stylish underwear from Organic Basics and Saint Basics

Don't you need lace, ribbons and frills on your underwear? Then take a look at Organic Basics. This brand makes sustainable underwear, bras, t-shirts and accessories from organic and recycled materials. How could it be otherwise, this brand also comes from Scandinavia and, in addition to Tencel™, also uses SilverTech™ as a material. SilverTech™ is made from recycled nylon with a recycled silver salt called Polygiene  .

In the India you will also find super soft basics for him and her. Saint Basics products are made of organic cotton or eucalyptus and are produced under good conditions. This brand was previously featured in our article about sustainable boxer shorts . Check Saint Basics for that .

From leftovers to lingerie: Sexy Beast

The German brand Sexy Beast is known for its upcycling. Sexy Beast only uses residual materials and 'deadstock': substances that are unsold, because not enough has been purchased, for example. The elastic and lace of this lingerie brand has also been saved from the landfill. The living wage is also good with this brand: the lingerie is handmade in Berlin by professionals. If you are looking for sexy lingerie with lots of lace, patterns and sweet accents, then this brand is the right choice. In addition, Anekdot also offers loungewear such as bathrobes and pajamas.
